solo. is located in San Pedro, a detached part of the city of Los Angeles. San Pedro is home of the Los Angeles harbor, but most importantly, to an impressive group of artists.

solo. was founded in the fall of 2024 by artist Peter Scherrer. He had no intention of running a gallery, but when a space ideally suited for one opened up, he decided to grab it.

solo. stages shows by artists whose work Scherrer respects and with whom he gets along. It is important for artists to have a chance to show their work as it is meant to be seen. While the gallery needs to make sales to survive, sales should not be the focus. The focus will be on the work, the artist, and what the work is about. The rest (hopefully) will follow.

solo. feels to be just the right size for a focused solo show. enough to provide depth, but not too big to feel overwhelming.
